Hey all, the long-awaited Virginia Capital Trail is finally complete. 52
paved miles one-way, from Richmond to Williamsburg / Jamestown, along
historic Rt. 5, which follows the James River and passes many historic
sites & structures. Terrain is relatively flat - to - rolling. Some of us
from Richmond did an overnighter this past weekend, stopping at one of the
many plantations open to the public, Berkley Plantation, site of the first
Thanksgiving in the new (English) world. We stopped for lunch at Cul's
Courthouse Grill at Charles City Courthouse. Cul's is housed in a beautiful
old (former) general store and serves up great wholesome food and
libations. Then, on to the Chickahominy Riverfront Campground on the
Chickahominy River, seven miles from Jamestown, site of the first
successful English settlement in 1609. A short album of our trip on Flickr
