It didn't stick down perfectly and was always in a state of incipient
unraveling.
If you want an almost irremovable tape application for rack tubes, wrap the
tubes in 3 layers of cheap electricians' tape and leave it for 5 years.

roll but 1" would probably catch most everything. I usually put a wrap
under the front derailleur clamp, some at the head tube where cables rub,

It might work well for frame protection, but I could not get it to work
well on rack tubes.

I used some 3M tape meant for wrapping car hoods and fenders for protection. I cut it into pieces that fit around the tubes of my bike. I primarily wrapped the main triangle of one bike to keep frame bags from killing the paint. This tape applies fairly easily and seems to last without fading. I b
