It seems that several of us who ride Rivs, also head to Iowa for RAGBRAI in
July. Maybe it is a good idea to start a new thread...questions and
answers for those who might consider the ride on their Riv's, whether for
the whole week, or maybe the half week option. Or we can continue on this
Ted,
When you say BRAG do you mean Bike Ride Across Georgia?
I've been thinking I'll do it this year on next. I'm near Athens.

I've done RAGBRAI twice, both times with Brancel Charter -- and was very
happy with their services -- and yes, the charter-specific shower trucks
are the bees knees!

Jason, I have used Pork Belly on 6 of my 8 RAGBRAI’s and heartily recommend
them. I also have heard very good things from users of Brancel, Alpaca
Adventure, and Brancel charters.
Pork Belly has a very large camp. Essentially its own self contained village!
Because of its size, it is sometim
Hi Jason
I did it several years ago and used Pork Belly. I paid for the tent rental
and setup service (split with another person), which was awesome, and the
shower trucks were REALLY nice to have at the end of the day. Would
recommend and use them again.

I found this thread tonight regarding RAGBRAI and figured using this one is
better than starting a new one. I'm considering signing up and training
for 2025. Hoping to work out the time off work to do the whole week.
Anyone have suggestions for charters they have used ?
It would be awesome
Saw that Franklin Frames bike too. So slick! And all of those Rivs inspired
me to buy a Roadini!

I saw all of the above plus a custom touring bike from Franklin Frames,
which the internet tells me is a now-defunct framebuilder from Ohio. 26"
wheels, Rene Herse 1x, SRAM AXS shifting. A really cool bike.

I rode for the first time on my Homer. I recall seeing a Saluki, Homers,
an Atlantis, a couple of Hillbornes, a Heron, a Rambouillet, and a Frank
Gomez (I think it was). I met a gentleman mid-week who recently retired
from Waterford. Fun week.

Cody, I'll keep an eye out for a silver Sam! My Sam is a double TT green,
solid green head tube, wearing a red handlebar bag!
Ted, I am looking forward to riding BRAG...maybe next year.
Brady and Tirebiter, You'll have a great time and I hope to call out
when/if I see your Rivs!
Michael, ..
I’ll be on my silver Sam, looking out for other Rivs.

I’ve yet to do RAGBAI. It’s been on my list for years but there always seem
to be a reason I can’t make it happen. Hopefully, once my son is older,
I’ll be able to get there. I do ride BRAG every year, though. Have always
had an interesting bike to ride for the week but next year will be the
first
I'll be there on my Roadini.

Looks like you had a great ride, Rusty.
Sorry we couldn't meet up, but we were riding on our own schedule (and
sometimes our own route). That made the whole ride more bearable; I get
worn out by the "circus" of the main crowd.
I was hoping to meet you (and your Sam); I only saw two other Rivs thi
Have fun...I'll be on my green Bike Friday NWT going very slowly most of the
time. Would love to bring my Hunq but it's just too expensive to ship from
Honolulu.
Aloha!

I'll be riding Thurs, Fri, and Sat of RAGBRAI (my first time). I'll be on
my bright red Riv Road with light blue wrapped moustache bars and 650B
Lierre's.
I have a black Topeak trunk pack, but I won't be loading it too heavily.
I'm gonna let the sag wagon carry my duffel.
