We had an orange alert last night, not sure why (means you have to have your
flak vest and kevlar on or near you at all times). The did have a rocket
attack on our compound that injured one of our contractors a couple of days
before I arrived, but there was no serious damage. The rocket ended up

Hope you are being carefull.
I was hoping to run into you at one of these tank battles, but that
will have to wait till you get back - I wanna shoot at your PVC
tank!.
How long is your deployment?
Do you find that you have everything (tools, replacement parts, and

Yes, they are expensive, I am more than likely able to find them
cheaper at Home Depot or something. I was just wondering if that type
is the same.
I might switch to a turreted tank, it seems easier now that I have
been looking at pictures than a tank destroyer.

OK, I get it.
555 runs the solid state relay, and relay runs the high pressure air
valve.
Using the solid state relay solves all the high current switching
problems - cool design!

Check out the pictures of my Turret rotation setup.
24 volt gear motor.
Home made pulleys.
Home made motor mount.
I have a variable speed controler to run the motor.
The drive belt is 3/8 inch, round polyeurothane - you can heat weld it
to custom lengths.
I had to add the two rollers becau
My development marker is just a 24v 1000psi air valve hooked up to a barrel.
The 555 one shot circuit works by when feeding an input (pressing fire) it
switches a solid state relay for duration (N). Where N is set by the
combination of a capacitor and resistor. I used a pot for adjustability of
WOW that's a lot pricier than the 4" hinges I bought. I'll try to
find the link to where I got mine, I bought a hundred and something
for around $1.00 each.

Aaron,
Were you aware that T-12, Desert One's Brummbar, is in the
lovely village of Las Vegas? Perhaps you should send him a note. The
Alliance and MAG Industries have strong ties.

Here in former Colonial America, they are being run at 24 volts in
low gear, at 1 to 1.

You had a good idea, and I think you even suggested using a valve
insted of tappeing the barrel.
Your right: half a second is a long time, I didnt want to start
talking about milliseconds and confuse everyone.
Your idea! Thanks!

What were you timing? Why were you timing it?
The 555 sounds good for a DYI.
I think I need 3 timers for my application.
One to shut off the trigger, about 50 milliseconds after the trigger
is initiated.
Another to delay the initiation of the magazine air pulse.
Another to time the duration
Presuming your talking about 18v drill motors :-
The 18v 300W DeWalts just fitted into T057 I built a 12 tooth sprocket
chained to a 30 tooth sprocket so a ratio of 2:5 , they have two
gears , at 12v the tank travels about 1.5mph in low and just under
5mph in high. havent tested yet at 18v .
