In case I sounded too one sided, should say there are advantages to spring systems. They would be good in situations where your drive sprockets are likely to bind up with foreign obstacles for example. I thinks it is also a case of context to the system you are building. My favorite spring syste

For T067, in 1:6 scale, lightweight aluminimum frame with 3mm aluminium panels on bottom and ply panels on top, heavy and solid drive components, with attachment chain/wood tracks, over 90kg and it wasn't finished at that weight. That was with 6kg of Lithium battery, no marker. ___

I am looking for some info for a friend who is building a tiger. Those who have completed tigers - what is the weight of your tank? Thanks, Jason -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group. To post a message, send email to rctankcombat@googlegroups.com To unsubscribe, send e

Could I possibly trouble you for an estimate of the specs (pin length, width, and number, of hinges) and rough cost of your tracks per side. I absolutely love the design. Very professional looking. Thanks in advance, Mike. -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group. To post

If you want to maintain track tension through the range of suspension travel, you need a compensating idler setup like on the Chaffee, Bulldog, Pattons and Abrams. These systems are direct systems that use 100% of the movement of the front idler and redirect it to the first road wheel, it also work

so the spring loaded idler on everyones tank is just to assist in getting the tracks on? huh, here I had assumed it was necessary to maintain track tension through the range of suspension travel ... well that makes things easier On Tue, Nov 16, 2010 at 3:16 PM, Ben Holko wrote: > Throwing trac

Throwing tracks can be caused by the wrong tension, but in my experience I think it's more to do with the sideways flex in the track system - when turning this can throw the alignment off enough to "de-rail" the track. Ben From: rctankcombat@googlegroups.com [mailto:rctankcom...@googlegroups.c

No active idler. I don't know of anyone using a active idler. Steve Tyng is using conveyer belt with a suspension. Wow I posted the response four days ago and it just showed up. Will -Original Message- From: Jason R Schafer To: rctankcombat@googlegroups.com Sent: Tue, Nov 1

I was referring to an active idler that takes takes up slack during track movement. Those who have issues throwing tracks - is it due to suspension travel or neutral turns? Do you have an active idler system? Will I like your Su100 setup do you think it will work for conveyor belt tracks? On Sa

The Su100 has been running suspension without a tensioner . It uses 2060 chain . I can remove the chain by removing the road wheels. Which gives enough slack to pull the chain over the idler wheel. Will -Original Message- From: Jason R Schafer To: rctankcombat@googlegroups.
