makes the assumption that all golf flags are the same height which seems to

it as a guide to help keep keep the tracks in place (vs the little dia of

Heck I bent 3/4". The Bulldog had two 48ahr SLA's that weighed about
37 pounds each. Run all afternoon without a recharge. :-)
The Bulldog's fighting weight was pretty close to 220lbs. Running into
things either broke the tank or the thing it hit.

Wow Fred, you bent 5/8" axles? I've been using 1/2" axles and the only
time I've bent them is when the tank was supporting close to 300lbs (me
sitting on it).

You could use the same suspension but have different drive sprockets,
idler, and road wheels by using 2060 attachment chain. This would
pretty much solve the "throwing a track" problem. You could also
design the track plates to have a more "authentic look" and you could

I think active sensor tech is a blind alley (get it, blind in bright
sunlight... ;-). Passive is the way to go. Two pivoting cameras with an
image overlay (ie, an optical rangefinder) is the correct path for the
hobby and worthy of the efforts by Joe, Doug, and other equally skilled
