Hi All
Well calipers and bits of kit were hurled across the room several
times today. Frankly I was climbing the walls when despite my greatest
care things just didn't seem to line up on the deck. Thankfully
drinking vast quantity's of Yorkshire tea gave me the will to
continue. So here is the dra

There's the link. I use the 450W version of these motors in both my M113
and the KV-2. TONS of torque.
`A set of MY1016 24 Volt, 350 Watt, 2650 RPM, = £74 inc shipping `
that would be great if the final rpm was 300 - 500 . if these motor
have a built in reduction gear box then I`ll have 2 myself ,
otherwise you would require your self to build a geared reduction
transmition system of about 7 : 1 .

Hi Clark
I'll have notes coming out of my ears I reckon =D There are some
interesting angles/facets to the Challenger. So far I have the outline
of the hull with all the suspension centres and wheel centres marked.
Some reference points and lines will be added to this 'simple' drawing

Excellent news, Dave. Make good notes! Somebody else might want your
drawings later on :)
Might be nice to add a measurements repository to the RC Tank Combat site...

Thanks for all the info Chaps!
I spy 'inexpensive' markers =D An hours running and firing seems
adequate. I presume that using PWM speed controllers would give a
significant increase, subject to driving style, in duration? I don't
think I can afford the PWM method anyway but out of interest..

I think Phil Palmer has a Viewloader gun for his old etzer - but don't quote me
on that. Viewloaders are cheap but not as common as Spyders.

Hi Dave,
Cheap markers - you'll probably be looking for a Spyder Victor or
something along those lines then.
They used to be readily available from Planet Eclipse for about £50, but
I'm not sure if they have them any longer. I'm sure Pete can find out
for you though.

Hi Derek
Thanks for the tip. I have seen another member had a similar problem
with his build, an Abrahms? Due to the low profile of the turret. Why
hasn't my Tamiya arrived yet =D
Question for the UK Based chaps. What inexpensive markers are out
there? Ebay seems a bit bereft of the markers thems
As I have reminded others building modern, low profile tanks, as the length
is decreased being built to the 36" rule so does the height. Keep that in
mind. It can become a big problem with gravity feed magazines in our tank
turrets.

Hi Gregory
I have run a dual boot before. I set it up as seperate drives and
selected which drive/OS at boot. But as it was only one program I
wanted I gradually just did with out. But every now and then something
pops up and I think 'Sketchup would be useful right now' =D

Hmm, have you ever considered setting up a dual boot system, so that you can
run Linux or Windows? I personally use Windows myself, because of the apps I
use.

Hi Ben
I have tried to run Sketchup under wine in Ubuntu but the work area of
