if the printed nut were to fit and work properly i'd consider casting some. as to their life, i'd think that with proper greasing it should last for a long time as it's not like there's a lot of weight bearing down on it   chris   In a message dated 4/6/2017 12:38:48 PM Eastern Standard Tim

Acme is a standard profile. You'd have trouble with the resolution for the threads, but it'd be easier with an acme than a v thread. Acme are better for strength, so it probably would wear well. Most of the acme threads I cut were a lot bigger than that. Acme thread inserts aren't that common

I have two of these motors I purchased a while ago. They have a 7/16 ACME thread which is very hard to find nuts for. If you get some, order them from Surplus Center. Theirs at least come with one nut. http://www.surpluscenter.com/Electrical/Linear-Actuators/DC-Linear-Actuators/2-25-Stroke-12-Vol

I have a place near me that sells those too. I was thinking sort of the same. My working in slow progress tank is an AMX13 so it would have to move the top of the articulated turret. -- -- You are currently subscribed to the "R/C Tank Combat" group. To post a message, send email to rctankcomb
