been told over the years is if you introduce any other chemicals or metals
or minerals you wreck the chemical equation of the fragile battery equation.

RO systems do NOT remove disolved minerals from water! Calcium carbonate
is a disolved mineral, so I would suspect that by now you have a pretty
good Ca buildup going.
