I've always heard that it isn't good to run glycol in a drainback system.
When the system drains during an overheating condition there is a glycol
residue left in the collectors which cooks and I suppose turns to powder.
Time after time this will decrease system efficiency and possibly

Its what I've been told that using glycol in drainback you will end up
with problems when the fluid hits the super heated metal in the
collectors.
Very hard on the chemistry, shortens the life etc.

We've installed a good deal of Schuco systems with Slim V collectors which
are supposed to utilize steam back. Being a mechanical engineer, I still
have my doubts about the steam back principle but I don't have any real
world data proving it does or doesn't work. I can't say anything

had terrible problems with the Xantrex XW product. Part of the problem is
that not everyone in tech support there is equally knowledgeable about their
