Self drilling screws are OK for conduit clamps, wire clips and other
miscellaneous uses but I would never recommend them for anything structural.
Drill points on screws are not going to be accurate nor the drilled holes
clean. And threads that cut into those holes won't be strong. Holding
We don't see too much to rave about, generally, in either of those categories.
Biggest problem with many is getting a response from our sales reps, and
finding out what is actually in stock.
Several companies have a (so-called) dealer login to check for such things, but

Probably is, but that list has a lot fewer subscribers than this one.

In theory, all DIN rails should be the same, there are only two generally
used industry sizes, and 99% of those are the 35mm.
The problem we have seen on a very few is that the lip and/or the metal
itself that it is stamped out of is too heavy, so it won't fit into the

Agreed about the different metal gauge on DIN rail which is ostensibly the
same size. Specifically in the Xantrex XW Power Distribution Panel, the
steel used for that AC breaker rail is so thick that Square-D QOU breakers
require some wiggling wrestling. I can see where other brand breakers
might
I am certainly interested in which wholesale distributors offer good
service, if any.

I have been very happy with AEE once I got a good steady sales person. I do
miss the dealer login and hopefully they will fix that some day?
I have also had good luck with Power Up but they are a little more money and
don't stock as much.

I prefer to use the extruded aluminum DIN rail, much more uniform, and
holds the breakers tighter. If you're having trouble, consider
switching the rail out for Aluminum.

Nick,
No matter what you come up with, every battery system will have

you get this group to take this one step further and just build a

Hi Nick,
This is easy and there are a few options that Ive done.
1. depending on the turbine or turbine possibilities you can use
standard or slightly modified battery chargers.
ie each charger is therefore a current limiting device so each house
gets no more than the charger size.
Yes
Hi Guys, and thanks,
It was what I sort of thought but just couldn't prove.
The metal is just too thick for the CBI breakers.
