Hi Ron, Given the time in "storage" the cells will be severely sulfated and will not accept much current initially - probably 28A max (1400x2%) and 70A (1400x5%) will suffice once current is accepted. A standalone "unregulated" charger or constant current would be best to reclaim these or at

I have had some luck sometimes. First what I find is they seem to not take a charge at all, I had to apply close to 120 volts to get it to take a 1/2 amp. What I did, got a 600 volt 6 amp rectifier,($2.00)Radio shack. (i have a NTE 6013 on my desk in a flat pack, and it is about 800 volt and 1

Ron, I had a similar experience. Customer had a similar battery, industrial, 1200 amp hrs at 48v, IBE that sat for a few years. I hooked them up to a dual stack outback, and just turned it on. The voltage was brought up with some solar and then we ran the generator for a few days straight.

Ron, Before hitting them with a lot of current, I'd put groups of six on a lower charge with an external charger for a while.  It'll give you a chance to see how each one is doing.  Then re-wire them for 24-volts and connect the Outback inverter.  If they are to come back to life they'll need

I have just acquired a 24v set of 1400a/h 2v cells that have been in storage without a charge for several years. They were connected up in a system that was never turned on (long story). I believe these batteries can be recovered if I can get a high enough amp charge into them. The battery
