Correction: it is number 6 to the charge control, and 3/0 or 4/0 to the batteries. At 09:40 AM 8/20/2010, you wrote: boB, It looks like 3/0 or 4/0. It is a short run. At 08:09 PM 8/19/2010, you wrote: Jeff Oldham wrote: I have seen this on my last 3 MX60 controllers and it is very frustr

Darryl, A GFCI will work without an equipment ground connected to it.  That is why the NEC allows a GFCI to be used as a replacement for a two-wire plug.  But in an ungrounded power system a GFCI will not work unless there is a low impedance between neutral and ground.  For a small ungrounded

Wire gauge isn't the only consideration.  Check all crimps and connections in the DC path.  A bad one can cause more drop than the wire. Dan --- On Fri, 8/20/10, Jeff Oldham wrote: From: Jeff Oldham Subject: Re: [RE-wrenches] Voltage discrepancy To: re-wrenches@lists.re-wrenches.org Date: Fr

Just a note, FYI The GFCI will work without a ground, it operates when the current is different between the Hot and the Neutral If the generator does not ground the neutral it is supposed to be grounded on the service or what ever is using the power.  The honda inverter generator may not have

Excellent responses, all...much appreciated. I think I can borrow a Honda-i genset with inverter technology. I'll cart that out for a test run; that should "illuminate" the situation. Jolliness, Mick Abraham, Proprietor www.abrahamsolar.com Voice: 970-731-4675 On Thu, Aug 19, 2010 at 11:57 PM,
