That's true Dan. "Not all of the current" would be on the larger wire, but most would be, assuming that the old #10 and the connections are still good. And hopefully, it isn't landed on the 12V terminals on the back of the refrigerator. Nick Soleil Project Manager Advanced Alternative En

We built a display for a Science Center shining a 350 watt halogen bulb onto a 20 watt module. We could get .4 amps out of the 12 volt panel. No matter how large the array it can't be done with 60 lumens because the light disperses at the same rate that the array surface area increases. Nathan J

If the source is a light bulb or similar, no it cannot be done at all. If the source was something like a very heavily clouded sky, or twilight in the Arctic, it could be. A 23 watt CFL puts out around 1200 to 1600 Lumens. So to get the wattage needed (.7 amps @ 15 volts), you would need a pan

This is a pretty good example of how obscure the various "lighting" variables are for even solar pros. I won't go into the gory details (and they are details of some depth, trust me). So let's take the following shortcut. A decent CFL puts out 60 lumens per watt of power consumed. So, in theory,

I have seen that behavior almost. if open cirucit is 330 then MPPT should be about 264 which is to close to bottom of the window. Last summer a sunny boy in a similar situation of 8 modules in string was droping out on MPPT tracking. The inverter had additional module added and started to be
