If in range of service, you can use a Verizon MiFi device for wireless access and a wireless bridge to connect a data collection device like a SMA webbox or and Enphase Envoy to the wireless access point (the MiFi). The amount of data transmitted will not come close to the data limits. Jason

Hi Jay, I have. 4 golf cart batteries were installed in a non vented compartment of an RV...with other electronics like inverter, relays, solenoids, etc. I was about 500 feet away and heard an expolsion. When I arrived at the RV, the bay door was mostly blown off the hinges. Needless to say

Jay, I have had a solar charged 12v RV/marine battery explode inside a very large work trailer, but found that the battery was bone dry which may have been the real reason for the melt down and not a trailer full of gas as the only damage was a totally exploded battery case. I was working inside

Here is another issue related to this thread. Yes, you can build sealed battery boxes and add vent pipes, fans, whatever, but battery terminals and battery cables installed in a confined box will have far more problems with terminal corrosion due to more concentrated forms of gasses and a mist

Wrenches, Once again I am trying to size a grid tie w/battery system and I struggle a little with the efficiencies of them. With PV Watts (v.1), is changing the DC to AC derate an accurate method for getting the output? Thanks in advance! Jeremy All Solar Inc. Jeremy and Amy Rodriguez 1463

I have always dealt with that situation by putting a 4 gig SD card in the slot and collecting the data over long periods, then dumping when there is a connection. The internal memory is really small, only enough for short term data, but the card slot takes up to 4 gig cards, and can store years

Please use the 90% of the CEC or PTC rating of the PV module at most. Among several systems that I monitor daily, I have an example 11.760kw (STC) system that has a 500Ah battery bank and it peaks at 77-80% of the STC rating each day. Peak is defined as the top of the bell curve that forms

Sound systems hate square wave and modified square wave, so unless you want to listen to a ground hum and some other mid frequency square waves under your broadcast, only use true sin wave inverters for that.  nick vida___ List sponsored by Home Power
