Hi All
We've used the 12v fans directly off the charge controllers for 12, 24 and
48v systems, but I like the idea of the 48v fan on this system since it
moves a great volume of air than the 12 and 24v versions. Two 12 v fans may
be a good way to go and it builds in a failsafe- if one dies the

Then again, SOME of us don't buy in Walmart either.

A couple of customers have found 2500 W inverters rated as true sine
wave for prices in the $300 range. My strong gut feeling is that they
are junk, but I have no experience with these. They feel the
inverters from Outback, Magnum etc are far overpriced.
What would you say to a customer who
Do they have a charger or just a CCC inverter?

Unless they are a continuing customer or a friend, I would be inclined to
tell them good luck.
PLEASE call someone else, asap!

Hello,
Has anyone on list installed a Solaredge 480/227 3-phase inverter? The spec
sheet says that the nominal input DC+ to DC- is 840vdc. I assume this is the
regulated operational voltage, and so the system installation falls under
the code rules for 1000vdc systems, correct? My local
Often the CCC inverters have a very high standby power draw, and some shut off
at 15 volts so you cannot equalize. The don't have chargers and transfer
switches. They are not UL listed. Some don't allow proper grounding, with
negative battery and neutral bonded. They don't offer much motor

This is happening with continuing customers that are friends. What is
needed are some solid technical reasons to give them, but do
Are they missing the fact that the inverters used for battery backup RE
applications are also high output sophisticated battery chargers and
transfer switches all built into one integrated unit intended to work
together with available monitoring and coordination with charge controllers?

Try to get a make, model and a brand name and we will see what we can find
out about them.

What your customers will find is that these auto parts store inverters
only reach their nominal ratings with resistive loads. When trying to
start a motor they exhibit a fraction of their rated power - too much
reactive load. Same goes for anything with a transformer or power supply.

These cheapo inverters are nothing new; we've had to sell against them
for over a decade.
Its all about longevity, and how bad life might be with a several week
outage.
Weight is a great, simple place to start. The quality inverters are
transformer based, and weigh much more.

happens with inverters of all makes.
