Hi Jason,
I used to get parts from Controlled Energy Corp in Vermont, but I haven't
contacted them in at least 8 years, so I don't know if they still have them for
the old units.

Hi Kris,
The roofing contractor we work with for EDPM can get different boot types, or
can get custom boots made for our standoffs. I assume you mean heat-welded
boots. 4" Unirac 2 piece aluminum standoffs haven't been a problem. Maybe you
need to shop around for a roofer who can get more varie
If they HAD to have the wee Generac, you could have it feed only one
inverter, and the other 3 Magnums could stay in invert mode. I have
large systems where I'm not using the charger off every inverter.

Hello Brian,
I am running one of these older French models at home as well. Do you happen
to have a source for parts?
Thanks,

I haven't been a dealer long enough to remember the problems you refer to.
We don't have the sales volume to be able to speak with authority on faults
statistics but I get the impression that the quality of Generac units has
improved a lot over the last couple if years. Most of our problems are

Hello, Wrenches...
This 30% is usually an absolute max. Optimum would be dependent on the battery
chemistry but is usually about 10-20% C20 Rate. The Optimum has to do with
absorb time, rather than what the battery can take as, once past the bulk
stage the battery is going to "self-regulate"
I have had a Bosch/Aqua Star 125 HX LP On Demand Water Heater installed and

that ignites the pilot and main burner when there is a demand for hot water.
With no demand for hot water, there is no standing pilot light and
Eric,
30% of C is high for all flooded batteries I know of. I'd worry about the high
temperatures and grid warping. Some AGM's can handle 5C charge without harm.

Allan,
I have had problematic experiences with Generac in the past, much as
others have described previously. I have had little or no recent
experience. However, my generator guy, who I think is very reliable, says

Chris,
I consider the Ecogen to be a singular model, specifically
developed in partnership with the Propane Reliability Council for
off grid applications, in one size and structure only at present.

You are right. Normally I would not even consider a generator of this size. My
constant thinking outside the box took me down this rabbit trail. I'm back.
Thank you,

Hi wrenches,
I am looking to flash a 1" diameter snapnrack post on a pitched roof
covered with black epdm membrane. The roofing manufacturer has a one size
fits all, but its too tall to work well. Any suggestions would be much
appreciated.
Thanks,
Kris

Sounds like they need a 20 Kw Kohler. Hot Tub in the future? They'll
love their Kohler. The Generac is just way too small to even consider IMHO.

Hi Dick,
Following the Carter era oil embargo energy awareness, pilot lights were
reduced from ~700 BTU/h to ~ half. In a tank, that heat is put to
amazingly efficient use; not so with a tankless.
In places where they take energy usage seriously, the pilot light is lit
only when the tankles
