The new version just worked for me. Maybe they fixed it. I liked v1 but it
looks like it’s history now. My bookmark goes only to the new version, which
seems fine. I use a MacBook Pro (OS X 10.10.3, and Safari 8.0.6).

Anyone else notice that the PVWatts website is not working or do i have a

On a related note to the one-day battery backup install, you may have seen

Hello William,
I had not seen the video prior to your posting. I totally agree that a one
day install of a complete battery back-up retro-fit is completely
unrealistic. Perhaps 4 to 7 days, depending on the complexity and size of
the retro-fit. Yes, one day might suffice to install and wire just t

Hi all
I also question this.
Ok so there is a power outage. If I understand correctly it's a manual disco.
So now you have be home and know what to do, and you have to remember to turn
it back the other way.
And it's going to be expensive. Their straight disco one is what $1700?

The market Morningstar is going for is the customers with non-battery, grid-tie
only inverters. If you then add the Morningstar product and a whole lot of
other items and a lot of labor, you can have battery backup. If you already

Sounds like it is still very much in "concept" mode, like "solar paint" or
solar roadways.
All the best to them in their R&D and i'm sure if they can come up with
some positive energy output production numbers, keep durability/reliability
issues in check and keep manufacturing costs within reason,
Chris,
My first take on it is that it's been developed for those who
already have batteryless GT systems and now want to add backup
capability. The Tesla Powerwall has generated plenty of buzz, even
though it's still expensive and unavailable, for battery backup.

Hi Chris,
I think this would be a product mainly used in existing grid-tied
retrofits. If there is an existing grid-tied only inverter, you could
route the DC conductors through this transfer switch first giving the
homeowner a grid-tied or off-grid option if the grid was down. You'd still
need
