Yes, we're definitely planning a battery based inverter. The real trouble is when the generator is charging, its AC power passes through to the loads and hence to the Enphase inverters. Also I agree with the other poster about Outback being more cost effective. I just took a look at their

Hi Ray, With that size grid-tied system, you would want to use a battery based inverter(s) near the (6.7/0.8) 8000W range. The frequency shift of the Sunny Islands will work with kicking out the enphase inverters but you wouldn't get the same output ramping that it would offer if it was a Sunny

I can't say William. It was only rails, no hardware and besides, we are not using it. It was delivered to our (out of town) site in error along with our project's racking which came directly from the manufacturer. Funny thing is, these mystery rails are from a different mfgr than the direct

Any time we have the opportunity to head to the warehouse and pick up rails directly, along with the modules, we make every effort to do so. This has saved many frustrations in shipping returns and turn arounds. Chris Worcester Solar Wind Works NABCEP Certified PV Installer Office

Hello Wrenches, I've been trying to think through how I can mate some lower cost charge controllers (prostar 15A 24v PWM units, or the new 30A Midnite solar Brat) to some 8s LiFePo battery banks. As I understand it, lithium batteries meant to be charged to around 3.65V per cell (29.2V for

Ray Couple of thoughts on your application. We used to use the sunny islands a lot, challenge is they are only 120 volt so we needed to have two or add a transformer, which proved problematic with the grid tied inverters and hertz ranges. So now we use the Outback 4048 and 8048 radians (

HI Esteemed Wrenches: I am consulting on a system I have never seen, that consists of a 6.7Kw Enphase roof mounted system, and 2 backup generators. Each generator has an automatic 200 amp transfer switch to back up its own 200 amp panel. Both 200 amp panels are fed by a 400 amp service from
