Even the industrial Generac ATS's use plastic gears now. They're awful and
parts like the gears, CPU's and sensors have been unobtanium. My preference
has been Eaton first and then Asco.

I'm gonna add that the ASCO is the way to go. They offer both normal ATS
and with a service entrance rated breaker. I have dozens out there on GTBB
systems. What I really like about them is you can adjust a pot so that
there is little to no time delay in which the home switches over to

We used to work with / recommend ASCO, but no longer. We had a site with dual
ASC8000’s 400A 3 phase units switching between Gen 1 and Gen 2. Control board
sensor problems arose and it failed to auto transfer back from Gen 2-1 due to

I recently set up a Generac ATS to transfer to an existing Magnum off
grid system. Grid was added to the house later. I ended up putting a

simpler RDT models should be used in conjunction with a complex custom
system.

I have a system with Generac ATS where Grid is Primary source, SolArk
Critical Load is secondary source. And whole home is the Load out of the
ATS.

If you are looking for a very good ATS, you need to look at ASCO that's
what they do, from small less than 100 amp to high voltage multi 1000 amp
units, they are a simple 2 wire start, l also use the Kohler products with
no issues, l have AC Coupled off grid, DC Coupled on grid
