Thanks for the info, Sam.
I guess that I should have mentioned that I am looking at an 8kw residential
application.

I have had engineering done for 90 MPH/ 3 Sec microburst wind years ago for a
similar wetland type of situation. We were using 6" concrete slabs poured in
parallel to accommodate front & rear legs of the ground mount. 1 slab per front
7 rear set each.
The magic # was 18#of concrete per sqft of
Thanks for the info everyone. I was examining this option in the hopes
that my local AHJ might consider it a non-permanent structure and,
therefore, exempt from wetland setback rules. It turns out that they will
not give me an exemption even with no foundation. Alas, I guess we move
back 40

A possibility for a smaller ballasted ground mount system is the Sunmodo
Sunturf mount. It is difficult to find info on their website but you
will find the Sunturf mount in the catalog and the configuration too.
This mount can be installed on cast in place piers, earth screws, or
concrete

That's really valuable real world experience Benn - Thank you!
I did intuitively notice in watching the assembly videos that that after
the initial tensioning of the anchor cable that there was only minimal
attention (and hardware) devoted to keeping that cable under tension.

The rack tables themselves go together fairly well, however the cable

Wow cool product Nick! Anyone have actual experience?
I've been thinking that the concrete beam systems (above grade
pre-engineered rectangular blocks like solarmounts.com) really could be
used for any ground mount rack system (Unirac, IronRidge, SnapNRack,
SolarMounts, ReadyRack, etc.) in
Two that I've looked at but never used - I like the use of rock on the
second one. We quoted it for a job at one point and the price was quite
reasonable.
