And a grid tie inverter AC coupled to an off-grid inverter. Like the SMA Sunny boy- Sunny Boy combo. It's really just a big (albeit more expensive) charge control. For multiple dwelling systems or where you have multiple distributed inputs it turns out to be a superior system and more cost effe
