Hey wrenches,
Are there any purpose built inverters designed to charge an EV, PV direct
without batteries?
Thanks in advance

Probably being shown this week as SPI, Solar Edge has an inverter rolling
out to do just that.

Aloha all
I don't think this quite meets your requirements but SolarEdge just came out
with a really cool PV inverter / EV charger Hybrid. It has a maximum EV charge
rate of 9.6 kW and up to 7.6 of that could be directly PV supplied. You can set
up advanced features such as TOU and it tracks
I played around with several solar charged EVs, from 48 v to 144 vdc.
On the higher voltage packs I used a voltage controlled switch that
controlled a Kilovac high voltage DC relay. Clunky one stage charging,
but it worked. With the new battery chemistries and layers of
electronics on new
Aloha all.
Does anyone know of a readily available product that would allow one to
charge an EV directly from a PV array (with an inverter) with or without
battery storage that would NOT be connected to the grid.
Thanks,
marco
