I recall seeing simple cardboard box models being demonstrated by NMSEA at Solar Fest. They would get to about 275 F, while their huge trailer mounted mirror device got to about 325F, as I recall. The main flaw in all solar cookers is no backup source of heat, so that if it gets cloudy, etc.
