Have you considered trying the LBX mode? From the manual:
Low Battery Transfer mode is an alternative way of operating off the grid
using the utility for backup
power instead of a generator. The system essentially operates as a
stand-alone power system,
independent of the utility
I thought about it, but the main goal is no utility power draw during peak
times, and especially not for battery charging - while the grid could still
be used to charge during peak times in energy management mode (at the low
battery voltage), it seems less likely if the batteries are getting a
