Greetings, Wrenchies~ Below I've pasted a visual from the Trace T240 transformer product guide, circa 2000:
[image: image.png] My client's 240vAC 60 hertz source circuit has the two hots but no neutral. They'd like to run some 120v tools & appliances, hence the autoformer. I see in the diagram that a neutral from the input side is not required, but: * In that event, can I ground the newly derived neutral without causing havoc? The main home where the 240v wires originate is about 150 feet away & the AC neutral is single point grounded there. Other cautions or caveats? Thanks in advance.
