Ungrounded (transformerless) systems require PV
wire, not USE2. PV wire is listed under the ZKLA category at UL. Go
to the UL certifications page (
http://database.ul.com/cgi-bin/XYV/template/LISEXT/1FRAME/index.html )
and enter ZKLA in the "UL Category Code" box for a list of approved
The NEC requires PV wire in 690.35(D). If you are using
transformerless inverters, you should also take a look at the other
requirements of 690.35.

Am I correct that the good ol' plug connector leads on many solar modules
are non-compatible with transformerless grid-tie inverters? If so...which
module mfrs have switched to the different type of wire and how can I be
sure?
