I installed an Absolyte bank of 48 x 100A31's in Jan 2008.
The bank had been in float storage for 7 years before installation.
Discharge test confirmed all cells above 80% and most around 90%
So far no cell failures.
This is a solar/wind hybrid powering a remote cell
All heard and well taken, Jay, but the
Concordes are single-case 2V cells, so they are individually
replaceable.

As to the old batteries, They are worth what it will cost to move, install and
remove when they die in short order.
To me only worth it for a DYI.
As to the other part of your question.
I'd take the GP's any day.
Why?
no cables to buy/make
can replace individual cells if needed.

I'd say the old batteries are worth at least their recycle value up to
maybe
double that. Might make some one a great set, but then they might be
barely worth the trouble of moving and hooking them up.
