In response to my question to a distributor:

Hi Allan,
See response from my sales person over at Solarworld.

http://www.solarworld-usa.com/news-and-resources/news/federal-trade-dislocation-benefits.aspx

They are idling the crystal growing and wafering divisions in Hillsboro.  We are going to do all global Crystal growth and wafering in Germany.  We will still be doing all the cell processing in Hilsboro as well as module assembly.  Many of our the workers that were let go were temporary.  Most of the permanent workers are being transitioned into the moduling and cell lines of the facility.  There are still around 700 employees in the US between the Oregon facility and our sales and marketing arm.

Let me know if your customer has any other questions.

John

Dan,
I understand that Solarworld is closing its Oregon manufacturing plant. Please update me/us on the future of Solarworld in the US.
Thanks, Allan
