I second on the quality of the APRS World DC LED fixtures too Ryan. Just put a couple in here and they are working great. The ones I got are built-ins only though--not an Edison or 1159 bayonet. Wouldn't want to light a whole room here with *any* LED fixture, but these are nice undercabinet lig

Ok the first one bounced back? The good people at APRS World make LED lights and they are very high quality. I have checked out some that where installed and they seem to be a great little product here is a link to there product http://www.aprsworld.com/dcled/ __

Ray; I concur on the Thin-lites for DC FL. Bomb-proof. I've had better luck than you on the Shur-Flo pumps it seems -- 3-5 years each in full time service, then needing a diaphragm rebuild kit (cheap). I think I have about 8 of these installed for customers (and myself) right now. I always u

We've had the same experience with DC CFLs, about 50% return rate. They just can't handle voltages below 12 v, so we quit carrying them. After years of working on DC wiring, just go to AC. You could wire all the lights on one circuit in 12 AWG. (instead of running 10 AWG or bigger, and then tryi

Daryl -- If anything, DC equipment has gotten much tougher to find over the last few years. And for the price of a solid-state 12v - 24v - 48v DC-DC converter, you could buy the nice little Morningstar 300W inverter! Maybe there's a better company making DC CFLs now, but we had to stop carry

Darryl, If you're lifting from below ground you'll need a submersible pump to push water. Suction head maxes out at 25' at sea level before cavitation, with 1' reduction in theoretical lift capacity per 1000' above sea level. Consider a DC Quad SCS sub from SunPumps, 1-800-370-8115, to both lif

HI all I just got a Standalone north woods 14 x 20 feet, 2 room 4 season home. It is so small I want to do most loads DC, it has been over a year since I have had this type project. Where are people getting 24 or 32 or 48 volt CFLs? Are there any LED now suitable at these voltages? Who
