I have looked on the Carlon web site and the only temperature rating listed
is for minimum temperatures.
Others had expressed this concern in that past. The question arises as to
how hot is it under a PV array and at what rate does the temperature reduce
as one moves away from the

Hello William,
Nice under-array wiring. Are you using 90 degrees C. flex?
Best regards,

We do like these boxes, nice and clean. We always use cable gland out of the
bottom. Our AHJ has no issues with them under array.
Recently called Soladeck, they are looking at getting these listed for AC as

Enphase use (so one could land AC inside.)
Currently works well as a clean

How are folks wiring the Soladeck boxes? It seems that the intent is to
use cord grips in the south end of the box, but I just saw another
installation where the wires just came directly in through the space at
the south end. Seems like the foam is included to keep bugs out rather
I drill where the dimples are in the sheet metal, then punch for .5 trade
size, then install one of the plastic two hole strain relief clamps as are
available from AEEsolar and others.
I feel that one must not rely on the foam lid gasket to sufficiently clamp
the power leads. That just seems like

Dave,
As you've seen on our installs we always use one or more strain
reliefs in the south end of the box. Including for the grounding
conductor. We use the nylon ones from Sealcon. There is no way that
the foam block and lid provide adequate strain relief.
How are folks wiring the Soladeck boxes?
I have been wanting to use external mounted threaded MC connectors but
cannot find them in stock anywhere. [See below] Having the MC connectors
would make attachment a piece of cake. So instead I use one 1/2 NM flex per
string which will allow module

Your link showed some lovely EMT work, etc, but now I'm also curious about
these transition boxes mentioned, but not pictured.
Also, I've seen the same interpretation of accessible in Hawaii, that J boxes
