hello, you can effectively mod appearence trought the viewer. but for that you need to have some ressources like attachements, and some others avatars models.
i can't really help well because i just start to mod simple thing like bracelets for female i have another one as .mesh and i just modify the related.xml. easy no? hahaha ok i explain correctly ;) for modifing appearence you must have some files (.xml, mesh, textures and .material) on your computer for have them in-world. example: i need some white pant on my jack avatar i must have on my computer: a mesh, a texture and a .xml file for tell Naali were to put this mesh on the avatar. little examples you can found and check it's the ones the dev team give us ... badly the link is dead for me so i put them on my FTP. ( to all the developpers: please let me know if i can do that or if i must to remove the file) http://www.masterj.name/Naali-ExtraAvatars.zip so if you want a trouser on jack you must choose one of them on the list as you can see you have effectively a mesh (the famous trouser how it's look without texture) a .material (for tell Naali wich texture and wich effects on it is used or applied) and a .xml file (for tell Naali were to put this mesh on avatar arms, legs, etc etc) i can help a few with attachements only because i actually try some modifications only 2 days agoo and yesterday we have a great discution on IRC and i have try another things :).
