Everyone who read Peter Tremain's ANZAC poem may be happy to know that
the poem was read at the service on ANZAC Day at the National
Aboriginal Memorial at the War Memorial in Canberra. It was read by
Cec Grant, Wiradjuri Elder as part of his speech.

You don't have to go that far. Howard wouldn't dedicate a Japanese peace
park in Canberra a few years ago because the Japanese hadn't apologised
yet to Australia.

assistance for refugees
The Federal Government has appealed to the
states not to give any assistance to Iraqi or Afghan
refugees released into the community.
Up to 3,000 refugees could be released from
detention.
Nearly 500 Iraqi
Reconciliation without apology cannot possibly be reconciliation in any
meaningful sense of the word. If the Reconciliation Council does leave an
apology out of the document because it has bowed to Prime Ministerial
pressure then the document, the council and the whole process will be
compromise
