Dear,

I have been using openoffice for more than 10 years now. My primary
interests is to edit/typeset Bible using openoffice (since version 2.0 now
4.1.5) You may check out the oo converted pdf bible of my works at fojc.net.
For years, I have been struggling with the "centernotes" layout and
formatting issues (you may check out what it looks like from fojc.net bible
download). In shorts, the centernotes that anchored with paragraph might
overlap (or collided) each other from left column and right column
paragraphs. I have been trying to manually move the centernotes around for
years. But to a point, now, I think I better to contribute to source code of
openoffice writer to "automate" this centernotes formatting/typesetting
work. I am anxious to solve this problem fundamentally. I have been
programming in all kind languages for years. C++ was one of my first few
programming languages in college and in my early career. I believe I can
pick it up again very quickly. I have Computer Science in imaging processing
background with Ph.D degree and actively using Python and OpenCV and
occasionally in my hobby working on Elixir on Pheonix as well as ruby on
rails. I hope I can contribute to oo writer to a point that one day I don't
need to manually shuffling the "centernotes" any more ; ))

Let me know how can I get started : perhaps in Text Document => Text Frame
formatting code review ?

Thanks for pointing me the starting point.

-Paul
