Sorry, it was source RPM in SMP/686 (bouth selected in configuration)
configuration with RH 6.2. That was giving the `GET_APIC_ID' warning and
the same error messages but I have now updated to 7.0 and not build new
kernel yet.

Hmm? I never had problems building 2.2.16-3 from SRPM on a RH6.2 box,
except that emu101k-module broke but it didn't cause the *compile* to
fail.
