Well, two that I know of:
NT used to require null termination of some fields which the RFCs didn't.
NT used to not send all info in all phases of the protocol, except the first.
Haven't tried NT recently though.

Interesting. I've not tried dhclient though I've been using the ISC dhcpd
for ages

The dhclient that comes with ISC DHCP server code that
everybody uses is really very good, and you can initiate
scripts before and after that lease is requested and
received. It recommend it for a good alternative. If you
get RH dhcp SRPM, you just have to add it to the files

I'm tinkering with the new RedHat 6.2beta on my Cyrix 6x86 and noticed
something.
Every time PUMP tries to renew the DHCP lease on the ethernet adapter the
DHCP server running on the other ethernet adapter passes pump an IP and
the cards start a flip flop loop of the IP Addresses.
