Your description sounds like a spammer, but it's hard to tell. Check
your /var/log/maillog and see what's going on. That IP resolves to

The easiest method is to use VNC. This would require installing VNC
server on the Linux box (included with installation, may already be
running. This will tell if it is installed "rpm -qa | grep -i vnc") and
downloading the windows client. This is one of the easist methods.

would then suggest you look at nagios (www.nagios.org) or bigbrother.

You can use either logrotate or logwatch. Since most log files grow
quickly over time I would suggest using logwatch. It only mails you the
parts which are not caught by your rules.

Check you /etc/lilo.conf, look for directive called "default" it should
reference the linux kernel you want to boot from. (assuming you are using
lilo and not grub).

even on of the other computers in our office I can't see anything.

Spamassassin is best used with sendmail or qmail, which are mail

To answer part of your question, I use putty to SSH into my server; then use
'ps aux' to see what apps are running.
