I am using Red Hat 8.0 in a dual boot configuration on a late model IBM
Thinkpad. I have upgraded to the 2.4.18-19.8.0 kernel. The system worked
fine after the upgrade, but recently I have been noticing that the
system always hangs after a shutdown (can be of Windows or Red Hat) and
warm reboot of Red Hat. Usually it will hang on Intializing USB
Controller (usb-uhci) but I also seen it hang on Initializing USB HID
interface: and Enabling filesystem quotas. I don't have any USB devices
plugged in when the problem occurs, although that doesn't seem to make
difference. I have turned off Kudzu (no effect) and GPM (some effect,
although problem persists). The only way I know around the problem is by
doing a hard shutdown / power-off and booting again. Has anyone seen
this problem before and knows of a solution?

Thanks.
