Hi,
I have recently purchased 40GB hard Maxtor IDE hard disk.
I have installed Win98 and Win2k already. I left three partitions
for linux (/boot, swap and / file systems) in first 3 GB of hard
disk so I can boot linux through LILO.

I tried to install Red hat 7.1 on my machine thorugh Redhat CD.
At the time of installation it is unable to read the hard disk.
It says : "Unable to read Partition table".

For partitioning I have used Win98 based fdisk. To specify the
Linux type file systems I had used Ranish Partition Manager.
Currently my system is working well with Windows 98 and Win2k.
I want to install Linux on it.

Do I need some driver or Do I need to use Maxtor provided software
to Partition the hard disk.

Note : I had installed Linux on my old hard disk 13 GB and made it
dual boot so I know how to make it dual boot.

I would appreciate any response.

Regards,
Basant
