I am currently having some problems with Squid under
RH5.0, previously using slakware i have not had any problems.
The first problem i have solved, it would not run as nobody cause, and i
quote
"Another problem is that RedHat 5.0 Linux seems to have a broken
setresuid() function"
I would still like to know if this can be fixed properly, instead of
botching th source code for squid.
But the really important problem that i am having is that Squid is
terminating by itself.
I have been running Squid for over 6 months (with slakware), i have
tripple checked all the config files and permissions, in the cache.log
it just ceases to function.
It appears to happen shortly after the PPP connection is brought up, but
there is not fixed time, e.g Squid self terminates about 1-5 mins after
the PPP connection is brought up.
Squid itself however is started in the rc.local, with the -D option.
Has anyone had any problems with Squid & RH5.0, does anyone know the
answer to this one ???
