Yes, I did try the old CTRL-ALT-F1 to switch to a text console but even
that was not possible.

May I ask then *how* it works? I mean, details like how you actually mount
your USB CDRewriter? how you make it work with SCSI emulation? as I said,
mine worked fine with the PCMCIA card but I just can't make it mount or burn
with USB.

I installed grub already, it created some default menu.lst but I am stomped
as to how to make the rest of it to work so that I can boot out of that
partition without having to use a slow boot diskette.

Mozilla error, sorry but the mozilla-psm RPM *is* installed on my system.
I'm using the stock Mozilla (not the update that came after 8.0 was
released).

I had RH7.2 on my laptop and had to wait nearly 2 months (to get the disks
right) to be able to install 8.0, or rather do an upgrade to 8.0. I have
been a Red Hat user since version 3.0.
Unfortunately this upgrade came to me as a GREAT disappointment:
