mailer error

When I try to mail from my rh5.2 box this is the error I get. the mail sends but posts this error to the log (I use a command line mail)   Thanks   Cannot open hash database /etc/mail/deny: Invalid argument

Download the ppp-howto. Basically your carrier is starting the ppp interface (garbled text) and what you need to do is start pppd to accept this information. If you read the ppp-howto and don't get it or want to try another way try downloading ezppp or xisp and these will help you get online. I
