I am seeing this in my logs:
Sep 20 18:26:32 one fam[3324]: connect: Connection refused

To my knowledge no firewall sw is running. For example, iptables is not
running.
In case I was getting blocked by TCP wrappers I added the following to
hosts.allow:
fam: 127.0.0.1

The xinetd entry is from the RH installer:
In file /etc/xinetd.d/sgi_fam
service sgi_fam
{
type = RPC UNLISTED
socket_type = stream
user = root
group = nobody
server = /usr/bin/fam
wait = yes
protocol = tcp
rpc_version = 2
rpc_number = 391002
bind = 127.0.0.1
}

Any ideas on how to make this error message go away?
