I'm no expert on this subject, but I just added a second nic to my box for
ADSL. The first card was set up with eth0 during install. I set the second
card up using linuxconf, asigning eth1 to it . Could he not just remove the
current configuration in linuxconf, and asign the parameters the way he
I tried freewwweb (on windows box) and could not log in as some others

but it also inserted their pop and smtp infor, information so that you
cannot change in preferences. (not ok) Also infected all netscape

Do you have dhcp enabled on either of the cards? If so, you may need to
update pump.

I am trying to set up a second eth nic to connect to ADSL modem. I
finally did a new server install. When I boot up, the program sees the
eth1 card, but it fails. It was not set up during the new install. My
question is should it be set up during fresh install? I am thinking I
may have a bad card.

I recently saw a demonstratino at local lug meeting. It was a pcmcia on

If you are interested in the details, I can contact the lug to get the

If just typing telinit 5 does not work, try /sbin/tilinit 5
You amy need to locate the directory telinit is in. To do this just type
locate telinit and you will get a list of directories. The 5 is an
option for the telinit command. It will put you in the graphical mode.

Try CoffeeCup.com, I think. I loaded it on my machine, and it has the
flavor of HotDog Pro on dos side. Either it is a neat program, or a dog.
I tried to work with it a little, but I only have 32 meg ram.
Let me know if you try with good results. I am holding on until I add
more ram to try it ag
Steve,
You might try using FVWM. It is the smallest graphical manager on my
box, but netscape is still a graphical pig unless you have much memory.
If you find another graphical browser, please let me know. I would be

I am trying to salvage some old hardware for as much of a system as
possible as a project for my grandson. I have a 486sx25 with 16 meg ram,
and two small harddrives. One, a 245 M ibm, the other a 202 Calvalier.
When setting up Redhat 6.0, I can not get disk druid to partition the
