newbie needs help with what up2date has done!

Dear list I have just used RHN & up2date to download the latest software that I needed. Unfortunately this has messed up my network - I have a w2k machine networked to a redHat 7.2 machine. The kernel was updated from 2.4.7-10 to 2.4.9-21 and since so doing I keep getting the following err
