Hi, All my PPP files are well configured but I have tremendous problems to connect to the Internet from command line. I have redhat5.0(kernel 2.0.32). I did: pppd connect ' chat -v "" ATDT8617915 ogin: my_username word: my_password ' /dev/cua3 38400 mru 296 lock debug crtscts modem defaultroute & Modem did dial to my ISP..but couldnt ping my isp or any other domain names..and /var/log/messages outputs were: pppd[612]pppd 2.3.3 started by root chat[613]:send (ATDT8617915^M) chat[613]:expect (ogin:) chat[613]:ATDT8617915^M^M chat[613]:CONNECT 38400^M chat[613]:^M chat[613]:^M chat[613]:**Enter username/type y$ chat[613]:alarm chat[613]:connect script failed chat[613]:failed pppd[612]:connect script failed pppd[612]:Exit BTW, I ve tried also a variety of options with pppd ..and it s stiil the same problem: internet is unreacheable.. ping to my Isp fails.. and if I use minicom (authentification to my Isp goes OK..I even get the ppp garbage from my Isp and the dynamic IP it assigns to me...but) as soon as I m quitting minicom without reset, I get NO CARRIER message.
