I had SAMBA working with RH9 and Win98. Now I have upgraded the Windows
box to 2000 and nothing works. All I really need to so is share the
printer between the 2 machines.
The one thing I have come across in digging through any documentation I
can find concerns passwords. I don't have a
I would check the mobo manual and see if you have to reset a jumper
somewhere. Also, the voltage on the pc100 RAM may not be compatible with
the mobo. If all else fails, take the memory to a shop that has a
tester and get it tested. It may have gotten zapped.

I am trying to run a game called pysol that swears that Python2 isn't
installed. It is. So is the other thing (tkinter2) it wants.. They
apparently came in with RH 8.0, because I didn't install them! How do I
tell pysol that the apps it wants are on the system?

My system is locking up if left alone for a couple of hours. I recently
upgraded to 8.0. Didn't happen with 7.3.
Anybody got any ideas?

Thanks Chris and Dan! Got bios flashed this am. It didn't solve the kernel
panic problem with 7.3. Probably something I needed to tell the loader, but
I didn't really have time to mess with that today.
I had downloaded 8.0 overnight (to windows) and burned the iso's with Nero,
so I installed 8.0
Thanks Mike - I printed this out and have put in a notebook I set up to hang

I installed a Promise Ultra ATA/133 controller. Works a treat in Windows.
When I booted into Linux, I got a kernel panic. Promise's website
inidicates support for Linux, but there is nothing there. I bought it
because it inidicated support for Linux on the box. I guess they lied.
Anybody know

I am having a whole lot of trouble trying to get my HP5550 printer to
work with Linux. Works just fine on Windows, so I know it's not the
printer. It is supposed to work perfectly according to linuxprinting.org.
It took awhile, but I managed to get HPIJS, Ghostscript and Foomatic
updated and
I bought an HP 5550 inkjet printer and would like to use it as a USB
printer. How do I configure 7.3 to recognize this printer?
Thanks,
