apparently hosed my configuration
somehow. I had to reinstall the X system to recover.
Yes, it may not be a gnome problem directly, but it is highlighted through the gnome
desktop login process.

again, used .xinitrc with exec gnome-session, and
nothing has worked.
Apparently something in /tmp got trashed at disk-full time and now my configuration is
hosed.
Any ideas for recovery would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

We have a RaidZone controller and can running under Linux. So far we've been happy
with it (~one year operation--under RH 6.1 and
7.0). However, the company support folks, although helpful on the phone, don't like
to acknowledge e-mail.

SRS Technologies, Inc. (ASI Divis
machine had an erroneous "/etc/resolv.conf" line that
resulted in the slow login (cured after I
deleted all entries). However, that still doesn't explain why the "/etc/host.conf"
didn't take precedence.
Thanks again, and send me a mailing address and I'll see abou

ot in root's home directory on each target or an /etc/hosts.equiv
file on each target. The .rhosts file should contain the name of the source machine
as well as any other hosts root may rlogin from.
I use the .rhosts scheme and everything works fine.

so far finding all the layers of indirection
so I can inject a standard PS offset corection through a PostScript
header. If I could find what name and
where PS headers are expected by Printtool I could fix the problem.

I have an HP non-PostScript printer setup by Printtool (RH 6.0).
Anything sent to it has the page offset vertically by 1/2 inch.
How can I fix my system so the offset is fixed?
Thanks.
