Hello,
I use a netgear
rt328 isdn router to connect one network to another and provide Internet
access. The rt328 dials into a RedHat box with an ISDN modem and
then can get to the other network and the Internet from there. I have
several public static IP's assigned to me

I set up a Samba
server and enabled it as a WINS server. The server works fine and I can
see the directories on the local Windows network. The computer that I use
to dial in is pointed to the WINS server, but I still cannot browse the Network
Neighborhood. I can use the "Fi
network to see it and even map the drives, however,
nothing shows up in their Net Neighborhood. Is this something to do with
IPChains or what?
Thanks,

I am looking for a script or program that can be run by Cron to calculate
how much time a user has been dialed into a server each day. I wrote a
small script which pulled the information from the 'last' command, it worked
great for a while, but for some reason stopped working a couple of days ago
as
a gateway to the Internet, so I need something that doesn't just monitor a
terminal session.
Thanks,
Travis McCarter

If you want another user to have full root privelages, you can edit the
/etc/passwd file and manually create a user with the UID of '0'. This will
in fact make another user a root user.

Is it possible under Red Hat 7.1, or any other version for that matter, to
set the number
of times someone can try to log on using a correct user name but wrong
