of the generic drivers, and the printer head will start
jumping back and forth, making several loud grinding noises, so at least I
know there's communication happening.
A few days ago, it printed fine under WinXP; so the printer and cables at
least work.
Anyone?
Thanks again.

, is there
much harm in reinserting the RAM?
New RAM is on the, but Id hate to throw out a chip that the install process
didnt like, and the day to day on the system would accept just fine.
Anyone with similar RAM hardware experience?

the system. Bad ram, especially non error-correcting ram, can cause you
all sorts of grief from random crashes to disk corruption. Slow you can
live with - disk corruption you probably can't.
Perfect sense. Thanks.

What I did was get the source RPM from NVIDIA's website for the driver.
http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=linux download the
NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-2960.src.rpm that is at the bottom of the webpage.
also download the NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-2960.src.rpm file.
Rebuild the source on your machine with rpm
How I can install my printer on RH 6.1 ?
